Colossians
By Peter Marshall McLewin
Left: Ancient mound of Colossae
Begin your study of Paul's letter to the Colossians by reading through my list of the key verses.  In the future I will add more commentary to the text.  Chapter three has linked commentary.

Colossae occupied an important place in ancient history.  In Old Testament times it was visited by King Xerxes on his way to Greece and by Cyrus the Younger.  In New Testament times a church was established there by Epaphrus.  It was home to Philemon and Onesimus.  I have had the privilege of visiting ancient Colossae.  It was without a doubt the least impressive of all the sites that I visited in Turkey.  Yet by going there I knew that I would discover something about the location that would give me insights into the things that Paul wrote to the Colossians in his letter.
